Some Things are Just Not Meant to be
There are certain things in life that are often considered as ‘not meant to be’. These can be situations, outcomes or experiences that for various reasons are perceived as beyond our control or outside the realm of possibility and this is one of those times.
I have been wanting to sell my house for awhile now and just haven’t managed to find that right buyer. In the current market everyone wants a bargain, and its hard not to get insulted when the low-ball offers are bandied around and you hear the negative comments about all the things that aren’t right with the property. I should have listened to my friends.
Despite the best efforts of all involved, it would appear now is not the right time for me to move on. The plan always was to downside and look to build my perfect dream home on Waiheke. A journey not for the faint-hearted I am told. So looking on the bright side, finally no more open homes, finally I can look to live in my house and finally I can just enjoy life without the stress of living in ‘limbo land’.
Some things just aren’t meant to be, even when trying on clothes. When I recently popped into my favourite clothing store Zambesi, I tried on a couple of dresses and was too embarrassed to leave the changing room, as what I saw in the mirror was not flattering at any angle, and there was no way I was showing anyone. Of course I did eventually find a top that fitted perfectly, as I was confident I was not going to leave empty handed. However, it reminded me that sometimes what we like and what actually suits us aren’t necessarily one and the same and just aren’t meant to be.
They say ‘home is where the heart is’ so my plan is to enjoy my home and wait for the right time ….. and perhaps learn a little patience along the way.

Well said Helen. I’m sure one day the right buyer will come along and really appreciate all the beautiful things in your lovely home. If I lived in Auckland I would love to have it as my home.
What a lovely and thoughtful comment … I am sure one day that right buyer will appear. xx

So true … trust in the process and when the timing is right …xx
House looks lovely. Might be nice to just enjoy it for a few months and maybe re-list closer to summer. Agree that sometimes what we like and what actually suits us aren’t always the same thing! 😃
