Breakfast with Prada in the City
I recently bought a book all about Breakfast at Tiffany’s which made me want to watch the movie again. When I visited New York a number of years ago, there were only a couple of iconic places that I had to visit and Tiffany’s on 5th Avenue was one of them. I wanted to re-enact that moment walking through those big metal doors entering the sacred world of sparkle and wonder. The beautiful diamonds on display and jewellery were heavenly and of course I had to buy something.
Another movie I love to watch is The Devil Wears Prada – liked the book, loved the clothes and wish I could experience the hectic life of working on a magazine, of course as Editor. I don’t own any Prada but definitely am in love with all the Chanel and think I would make a great Miranda Priestly.
Despite the not so great story line, Sex and the City can’t be forgotten for the beautiful designer wedding dresses, shoes and wardrobes bursting with clothes that would be the envy of any girl. My life at the time seemed to reflect Charlotte with a little bit of Carrie thrown in for good luck.
There is nothing better than hanging out with friends watching a chick-flick, enjoying some escapism for an hour or two, in the wonderful world that is fashion and movies. What is style will live forever.
I love a good chick flick! Speaking of hanging out with friends, it was good to catch up with you and Ms D the other evening! 😀
Always fun to hang out with the girls and looking forward to the girls trip next year.
Me too!
