The More you Spend the more You Save

I only lasted 26 days before I fell ‘off the shopping wagon’ and was lured in by the word SALE.  Whether it be from running past the shops in the morning (safest time to go) as the shops aren’t open; watching TV and being bombarded with every sale known to mankind, or friends extolling the virtues of the ‘bargains’ they have found – it was all just too much for me to resist.  Yes, I have sinned and gone shopping – breaking my abstinence goal for December and I don’t feel happy about

My good friend Vickii once told me that ‘ the more you spend – the more you save’. So, here is a list of the things that I have bought; and of course – how much I have saved.  I am doing this, in the hope it might make me feel better (but I doubt it).

Swimsuit from Cotton-on Body – RRP $44.95 (Sale Price $5.00)

Pyjama Shorts & Top from Cotton-on Body – RRP $54.90 (Sale Price $20.00)

Jogger Pants from Cotton-on Body – RRP $34.95 (Sale Price $10.00)

Kookai Cotton Gather Edge Jacket – RRP $60.00 (Sale Price $30.00)

Kookai Rib Cotton Singlet – RRP $40.00 (Sale Price $20.00)

Country Road Fitted Sheet Set – RRP $200.00 (Sale Price $81.75)

Country Road Tea Towel x 3 – RRP $29.85 (Sale Price $15.54)

TOTAL –   Retail $464.65      (Sale Price $182.29)

There have been a few additional items including the Euro pillow-slips from Smith & Caughey (on sale) but already on the bed, so original price unknown, plus the Max cardigan ($59.95). I also got a Zambesi voucher for Christmas, which I have already spent. Yes, I am a bad, bad girl.

So, let’s guess what my New Year’s resolution for 2013 is going to be …..

p.s. I have listed some items on Trade Me and have already sold something for $176.00 so am feeling slightly better about my spending spree, but still have a long way to go – before I can be forgiven.

Happy New Year from Yellow Tulip.

I fell into the art of style quite by accident. There was no defining moment when I decided that I knew what I wanted to do. I want people to feel good about themselves. Many don’t know where to shop and/or how to wear fashion. It has never been solely about cost, but of finding quality at a reasonable price and being able to wear - to suit your own figure, style and fashion. Join me as we explore – What is Style?
