American Vogue November 2012 “Hot Spots”

I don’t like the latest trend of literally wearing what can only be described as ‘glorified pajamas’ i.e. twin-sets out in public.  The VIVA section of the NZ Herald this week reiterated the popular look of the moment as has the November issue of American Vogue.

“Yellow Tulip”

Perhaps my aversion to this look manifested itself in my outfit yesterday, which consisted of black and white skinnies in an Aztec print with a grey and white cotton dotted tee-shirt (with way too many dots to count).  So what do you think of my ensemble?  Skinnies available from Topshop Sydney or on line (AUS$77.00) and tee-shirt from Cotton on Body ($9.95).

I fell into the art of style quite by accident. There was no defining moment when I decided that I knew what I wanted to do. I want people to feel good about themselves. Many don’t know where to shop and/or how to wear fashion. It has never been solely about cost, but of finding quality at a reasonable price and being able to wear - to suit your own figure, style and fashion. Join me as we explore – What is Style? 1. remind me to send you a photo of us in the eighties – me in my zebra patterned, padded shoulder, oversize T and matching tights – I think you had the lion version? wide belts, spiky hair & heels. We were stunning. Bought from the then uber-cool Victoria Park Market – where I worked at Ricks Cafe….

    • I remember your zebra and my leopard matching outfits. Animal prints must have been popular at the time. They were such versatile outfits back then as wore my often – many different ways. Will see if I can find a photo too!!

  2. I absolutely love your style Yellow Tulip, you certainly know how to mix and match….
