Forget the Rules
I read a quote recently that said ‘forget the rules – if you like it wear it’.
I don’t have any rules when it comes to what I like to wear. It doesn’t help that I don’t dress appropriately for my age either. How do I know this? My mother is constantly horrified at the hems of my skirts and shorts that basically look unfinished and have ‘bits of threads hanging’ down. She also thinks the length could be a little longer.
My partner’s teenage daughter often tells her friends about what clothes I have bought or describes some outfit I have been wearing. They seem puzzled how someone so old could wear something like that! I’m not sure how she responds and didn’t really want to ask.
All I know is that I have never followed any fashion trends, or magazine guides around what I should be wearing or have hanging in my wardrobe (depending on my age). I know my body shape and what suits. I know what I need to hide and what I can expose. I know that with age comes great wisdom.
So I’ll leave it to you to decide on your own rules. If you like it – wear it. Life is too short to think otherwise.
Definitely loving your attitude and liking your style, wise friend!
XOXO
Why thank you for having such great attitude and style yourself.
I think that we all break the rules by wearing the cloth with our personal style.
About wearing cloth according to age, I think it may vary.
That is so true Monica – it is all about individual style and grace.
