May Day Alert in Sydney
I have just returned from Sydney where I found a little slice of new retail heaven being May Day Market, located in Westfield Sydney City and Paddington. The store sells up-and-coming Australian designers as well as some brands from London. Danin Delimma is one of the labels sold, of which I bought a black sleeveless t-shirt. It reminded me of Rick Owens and Complexgeometrics in the aesthetic and design and was quality fabric. It is one of those pieces that can be worn numerous ways and will never date.
MFP was one of the brands of jewellery sold. I bought a brass double-plated ring with a detachable trinket and they also had some amazing earrings (of fairly large proportions) and necklaces that were very much ‘statement pieces’. I was reliably informed that some ‘famous’ people had been seen wearing the jewellery (but I wouldn’t want to name drop). Check the web-link for a clue!
The store had a fairly androgynous look about it – you could be mistaken for thinking it was men’s only. I liked the fact it was fairly unassuming in appearance and if you like the colour ‘black’ and dark muted colours, you won’t leave empty-handed. Being so new, the website www.maydaymarket.com isn’t quite up and running yet – but will be sometime soon.
Yellow Tulip

You really get around, Yellow Tulip! Your trip sounded like fun.
Would definitely recommend Sydney or Melbourne for a quick trip of retail therapy.
