What was the stylist thinking?
The 2012 Golden Globe Awards always tend to bring out the best and worst in dress sense, when it comes to celebrities. I can’t understand why those that can afford many luxuries in life, can still get it so wrong when dressing for these occasions.
It tends to always be easier to pick on those that look bad rather than those that look good. For me there was nothing that stood out as being original, classic and stylish this year. I didn’t mind the Claire Danes gown by J. Mendel with the cut-away back. The combination of black and ivory is a classic. The gown I liked but I thought the make-up and hair didn’t suit the elegance and simplicity of the dress.
My favourite colour made a bold appearance this year, shown off splendidly by Paula Patton in a Monique Lhuillier gown. She looked elegant, with a natural style and grace. I want that dress! The less said about Sarah Michelle Gellar in her Monique Lhuillier gown the better. I have to agree that tie-dye has never looked good on anyone. Trust me! Coming up next month is London Fashion Week 2012 (17th-22nd February). I am sure there will be plenty of beautiful and amazing shows and garments that will tempt us all, and possibly the odd one or two that may leave us not so sure, and perhaps wanting more. However, that is what I love about fashion – it is very subjective and what one likes, another will hate. It is all about personal preference. For me I love Zambesi clothes and Chanel handbags. A girl can never have too many handbags I say.
