Internet Shopping Anyone? bY Yellow Tulip
Have you bought anything on-line, from an overseas web-site recently? I have been lured into the whole concept of finding a great bargain (given our high NZ dollar) and have been trolling various web-sites looking for something, namely from the States or UKthat I desperately need, or may have wanted, but thought could not afford. As much as I have tried to spend my hard-earned money, there just hasn’t been an overwhelming urge to part with the cash (or should I say credit card) on anything so far.
When it comes to our own Trade Me, my experience as a buyer hasn’t been the best. Perhaps I have too much faith in fellow Kiwis, and don’t ask the right questions – but in the majority of cases, what I have bought, just hasn’t lived up to expectations.
Recommended web-sites to check out include: www.tobi.com.uk (lots of affordable designers and a good selection for both guys and girls) www.theoutnet.com (quality designer buys and is connected to netaporter.com but without the expensive price tag) www.karmaloop.com (street wear/casual wear/sports and much more for both guys and gals) www.savemart.co.nz (recycled and much-loved clothes/toys and family fashion at affordable prices) It is probably appropriate about now, to mention the out-cry from fans about the All Blacks new Jersey from Adidas, that appears to be cheaper to buy overseas on-line, rather than here in NZ!!
Always shop around has some truth in it – before you buy.
Fashion Tip When you start cleaning out your wardrobe over the next couple of months, rather than look to sell unwanted garments/shoes and accessories on Trade Me – perhaps consider giving them to Dress for Success, a non-profit organisation that helps people looking to return back to the workforce.
