Style Landed on my Couch
“What is Style” just landed on my couch.
If only these amazing Tretchikoff cushions could talk! Vladimir Grigoryevich Tretchikoff was one of the most commercially successful artists of all time – his painting “Chinese Girl” (otherwise known as “The Green Lady”) is one of the best-selling art prints of the twentieth century. Born in Kazakhstan in 1913, he died in Cape Town in 2006 at the ripe old age of 93.
A selection of his prints have been immortalised in home and lifestyle products, including these cushions, which I have fallen in love with. My lovely couch has Chinese Girl and Collage cushions providing a perfect resting point for the body to relax against. I can’t guarantee that you won’t end up falling asleep on them!! The hardest decision will be deciding which girl you want on your couch? If you are interested, check out the range available from Homage in Newmarket.
Tretchikoff lived by the mantra “Express your Passion. Do what you Love. No Matter what.” Given how successful he was, perhaps we can take a leaf out of his book and all spend more time doing what we love.
Beautiful cushions..!! And yes – we definitely should be spending more time doing what we love.
Life is too short to think otherwise. Hope you are spending lots of time doing things you love.
Always loved this artist. I collect Sarah Moon, a completely different style, but I enjoy her prints – ethereal ladies from the 70’s,
The cushions look great. The quote on my wall this week says “find something you are passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it.”
I got the cushions from the same place I had my couch made. Lots of lovely pieces to fill a house up with. It is always nice to have beautiful things around you. I remember Sarah Moon. xx
I remember Sarah Moon, i had a picture of hers in my bedroom right thorugh out my ‘younger years’!
Those were the days. Sometimes we need to keep treasures from years gone by as often they come back in fashion.
What amazing cushions; a real talking point…
They look fantastic on the couch at home.
Haha, such a fun post has us giggling! These cushions are absolutely gorgeous … Great conversation pieces or one can always add a comfy couch and a book, and we’ve got our selves a fabulously tranquil ‘me time’.
XOXO N & N
So glad you enjoyed the blog and got a giggle. Nothing better than a comfy couch and a good book with a nice cushion too. Have a lovely day. xx
