Style Landed on my Couch

“What is Style” just landed on my couch.

If only these amazing Tretchikoff cushions could talk!  Vladimir Grigoryevich Tretchikoff was one of the most commercially successful artists of all time – his painting “Chinese Girl” (otherwise known as “The Green Lady”) is one of the best-selling art prints of the twentieth century.  Born in Kazakhstan in 1913, he died in Cape Town in 2006 at the ripe old age of 93.

A selection of his prints have been immortalised in home and lifestyle products, including these cushions, which I have fallen in love with.  My lovely couch has Chinese Girl and Collage cushions providing a perfect resting point for the body to relax against.   I can’t guarantee that you won’t end up falling asleep on them!!  The hardest decision will be deciding which girl you want on your couch?  If you are interested, check out the range available from Homage in Newmarket.

Tretchikoff lived by the mantra “Express your Passion.  Do what you Love.  No Matter what.” Given how successful he was, perhaps we can take a leaf out of his book and all spend more time doing what we love.

I fell into the art of style quite by accident. There was no defining moment when I decided that I knew what I wanted to do. I want people to feel good about themselves. Many don’t know where to shop and/or how to wear fashion. It has never been solely about cost, but of finding quality at a reasonable price and being able to wear - to suit your own figure, style and fashion. Join me as we explore – What is Style? 1. Beautiful cushions..!! And yes – we definitely should be spending more time doing what we love.

  2. Always loved this artist. I collect Sarah Moon, a completely different style, but I enjoy her prints – ethereal ladies from the 70’s,

The cushions look great. The quote on my wall this week says “find something you are passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it.”

  3. What amazing cushions; a real talking point…

  4. Haha, such a fun post has us giggling! These cushions are absolutely gorgeous … Great conversation pieces or one can always add a comfy couch and a book, and we’ve got our selves a fabulously tranquil ‘me time’.

    XOXO N & N
