Sleeping Beauty
It may be an old wives tale, but I decided over the weekend to purchase a 100% silk pillow-slip, in the hope that it will alleviate (or rather slow down) the wrinkles and bags that are accumulating on my rather mature face. On getting a quote from an Eye Specialist to remove the offending character lines etc, which was approximately $11,000 NZ dollars, I decided for the price of a pillow-slip (under $100 NZ) that I would go with the cheaper option.
Why you ask, am I doing this? Well I happened to read in, I think it was British Vogue about the merits of sleeping on silk. I was further convinced with the fine-print on the packaging. So here goes. 1st Night woke up early (felt weird sleeping on silk) but looking forward to second attempt tonight. What a stylish way to sleep.
I had a silk pillow case a few years back. My beautician and also hairdresser recommended them. It was nice to sleep on but I didn’t notice any dramatic improvements in hair or face, but then again nothing bad happened either! 😊
I am on day 2 of another bad night’s sleep so my love affair with silk may be very short. The rate I am going those bags and lines will be getting very tired. Have a nice Anzac Weekend. xx
Good luck Helen for tonightâs sleep. Will be interested to read more soon!
Cheers
Margaret
So far not going well …. hopefully by the time you see me I’ll be looking young and sprightly …
Where do you buy them from?
I bought mine at Harrowset Hall in Newmarket but have seen them at places like Bed Bath & Table and Bed Bath & Beyond. Onto Day 3 of my silk pillowslip and still not sleeping great ….
Might have to resort to wearing dark glasses at this rate!
silk ay? anything to prevent wrinkles! will go see if I can find some here in seattle…
I might go with your suggestion with Gorgeous Getaways at this rate. Maybe I need to try a cheaper silk version !!
