Mad About Shoes!
Am I a shoe-aholic? I left the house today heading for the supermarket, intent on buying tissues and toothpaste. Somehow on the way, I ended up popping into Runway Shoes, Scarpa, then Briarwood and finally Shoe Connection, where I purchased a lovely pair of Mollini leather shoes. Did I need them?
I had been doing such a great job in selling and in some cases (on-gifting) unwanted clothing/shoes and accessories that I had accumulated enough money, to re-invest in a new purchase and my feet needed some attention. It was time to reward myself.
Amongst all my looking, I did some valuable market research and came away with a couple of tips for summer shoe shopping.
- Don’t under any circumstances buy plastic jelly shoes. They weren’t attractive the first time round, and don’t look any better this season.
- Secondly, paint your toe nails before trying on sandals and open-toed shoes. My feet are still recovering from the battering they got from running the other week and aren’t looking pretty. I should have painted mine. It would have made all the difference.
- Am loving the clear heels, that give a shoe a slightly more edgy and softer look.
- Stay away from anything that looks like school sandals (aka fisherman sandals) with a chunky heel. They generally are not flattering on the ankles and for some of us, make our feet look even bigger.
p.. If only the friendly Shop Assistants could teach us how to walk a little more daintily than my usual manly stride. I could then have a little more hope in regards to fitting into some of those pretty shoes that just pass me by.
Fun time… Summer shoe shopping, what fun!
Always nice to shop in summer …..
haveing osteo arthritis in my toes is a literal pain. I am banished to sneakers and small heels. Can Yellow Tulip do a blog on comfortable shoes that don’t look like I am a senior citizen??? love the clear heels and the coy flirtation of the design – I’m very envious!
Sometimes the most fabulous of shoes aren’t at all comfortable. Trust me I have been caught out many times. Definitely keen to do a blog on comfortable, yet stylist shoes so watch this space I may be help to help your small and delicate feet.
