Shopping Hawaiian Style
Aloha from Hawaii – it is Day 5 and I am finally in holiday mode. There is nothing not to like about this place. The sun shines, the people are friendly, you can run, walk, swim in balmy temperatures morning, noon and night. The shopping isn’t quite my style but if I look hard enough, there are bargains to be found, particularly of the shoe variety. The only slight hitch so far has been the lesson of patience travelling with a teenager, however we both appear to be able to appreciate each other’s differences so far!
Somehow while away, you can like all manner of clothes, shoes, accessories and even start wearing combinations of clothes you never thought would ever go together. I put this down to heat stroke! I don’t buy polyester normally! What was I thinking?
I seem to have met my match in the shopping department. Rough count on items I have bought would be around 14, of which maybe 8 are for me. However items bought by teenager would be in excess of 25, with the majority coming from Forever 21 (similar to Forever New in NZ). At last count she was also up to 7 or was it 8 bikinis.
I think the shopping drought may be fast upon us, as funds are disappearing as quick as our holiday is coming to an end. I will enjoy the last couple of balmy days thinking about how long it may be before I can start wearing my summer polyester dress I bought. Ugh I don’t think so? It just won’t happen.
saved you this week’s Viva as has A-Z of the 80’s. How expensive is Hawaii shopping? what is the food like? DO NOT BRING THE POLYESTER HOME
You will be pleased to know that I returned the two polyester items and replaced with cotton. Thanks for keeping a copy of the VIVA section for me.
PS – it has been lots of fun shopping with the teenager I might add. She has great taste in clothes and knows her own mind for sure. I only wish I was that young again.
