Day 12 : Yellow Tulip’s Abstinence Update

December Blog 004-3It is Day 12 of my Shopping Abstinence and how am I doing? Well, I went into 17 retail stores over the weekend (yes, I did count them all) and I was oh so very tempted.  However, I had to remind myself of the mission I had set and stay focused.

Lucky for me, I am so stubborn, have a will-power and determination that goes with it, I wouldn’t let myself actually go ahead and buy anything.

BUT I wouldn’t want any of you to miss out on some good retail buys or gift ideas for Christmas, so check out General Issue and Jeanswest (saw some great cotton tee shirts under $30.00) and Cotton on Body (saw some fantastic dri-fit exercise tops and shorts under $25.00). Good price point and quality is excellent value for money.

I have to admit that I did try on a cotton/sequin top at Zambesi, that they had got in for me … but the guilt would have been too much.  So I left it on the hanger for another day.  It was hard to walk away.

Not that I am counting – but 19 days to go.

I fell into the art of style quite by accident. There was no defining moment when I decided that I knew what I wanted to do. I want people to feel good about themselves. Many don’t know where to shop and/or how to wear fashion. It has never been solely about cost, but of finding quality at a reasonable price and being able to wear - to suit your own figure, style and fashion. Join me as we explore – What is Style?
