Are you sure they aren’t black? by What is Style by Yellow Tulip
So I decided that I needed to buy a pair of black high-heeled boots to wear with my jeans etc. I hear you ask: ‘surely you already have lots of black boots so why buy another pair’? Well I do have a few (and although they may look nice, they just aren’t that comfortable or necessarily leather).
I happen to be walking past Mi Piaci in Newmarket and see that all their winter range of boots are on sale, and can’t help but notice that they also have their new range of beautiful spring/summer shoes in store as well. The shop assistant was really helpful and I try on a couple of pairs of black boots, but of course being sale time, there aren’t many sizes left and none that I can squeeze my delicate size 9 foot into. Meanwhile I spy what can only be described as a ‘snake-skin print’ boot (with just a hint of yellow) and decide I might just try those on. They look great and are just the right height and fit perfectly. I instantly know that ‘they are the ones’ I have been looking for.
I then get told that should I buy a second pair, that I will get a further $50.00 off the sale price – wow what a bargain. My friend has a saying that comes to mind – ‘the more you spend – the more you save’. I look frantically around (as the shop is about to close) and spy a nice red boot (yes, similar to black NOT) and goodness me they have a size 9 – surely this is meant to be.
So within the blink of an eye my wish for a new pair of black boots turns into two pairs. One in ‘Mustard Snake’ and the other in ‘Red’!! Where did I go wrong? Needless to say I will not be buying a pair of black boots. The budget has well and truly been spent.
Snakeskin is the new black. Much better with jeans, too. Now all we need is to get you a lasso and a bullwhip. Red is my fav colour right now – so can’t argue there. The great thing about shoes? They always fit.
Couldn’t agree more and yes the boots will look fantastic with jeans. Can’t wait to wear them.
